Possible to have necrosis from Restylane in chin without seeing it (discoloration)?

Question

So I had restylane in my chin today and at one place or on one of the sides it is a lot more filler than on the other side. Its a huge lump there. I think it it because a lot of the filler migrated there. I can feel it. I dont have any discoloration in my chin other than a spot where i have a bluemark. But it is really painfull where the lump is, Compared to the other treated area. Can I have necrosis without seeing it? Without the discoloration? If the necrosis is below the muscle?

Thank you for sharing your question. What you are describing does not sound like necrosis. Usually there is prominent discoloration associated with substantial pain. See your doctor to be safe. Fortunately, Restylane can be dissolved if there’s an issue. Good luck,

Necrosis caused by embolization of filler in the face causes severe pain and mottled skin with bruise like discoloration over an area where you are having the discomfort. Massive volumes of hyaluronidase are used to flood the area to break down the filler causing the obstruction. What you are describing is probably either a lump of filler or a bruise. If you can feel something but can't see it, generally I recommend not messing with it. By the way, your filler treatment is adjustable with manual pressure for a couple of weeks.  Time is very helpful here.
