I have a CO2 laser appointment scheduled and will be taking a 2-hour flight 10 days after the procedure. Would that be fine?
Answer: Flying post CO2 Thank you for your question. Not all CO2 lasers are created equal and I think its important to remember that when we say "CO2". 10 days post procedure my patients are still very red and need to continue to moisturize and keep the area out of the sun in order to protect the new skin. There is no reason in my opinion that you wouldn't be able to fly. I would however check with your physician to verify. Hope this helps.

Answer: How many days after CO2 laser can you travel by air? The short answer is it depends. Patients are typically still in the process of generating new skin and are quite red and sometimes have areas of continued oozing, swelling or scaling even after 10 days. Usually 10 to 14 days should be sufficient for travel and make-up application but it really depends on how aggressive your treatment was and if your skin has completely resurfaced. I advise further discussion with your plastic surgeon regarding this.

Answer: Fly Away It depends. Generally following CO2 laser I recommend 10-14 days of no make up until the skin has resurfaced. This is typically when most patients will consider travel or getting back to their routine activities. It is however physically possible to travel earlier, but depending on the depth of the resurfacing there still may be swelling and oozing as the tissue is healing such that you may want to wait to travel. Always best to check with your provider who performed the procedure.

Answer: Flying after CO2 It is important to know that you are likely going to still have red, dry skin 10 days after a CO2 laser and that you will need to follow your physician's instructions regarding use of products. I do not believe there is any reason that you should not fly, but check with the physician performing the procedure to be sure they agree.
