Hi, what do you recommend for the two plat bands on neck? They were fixed before but now they look worse seven years later. What procedure do you recommend?
Answer: Neck, possibly lower face/neck lift Recurrence of neck bands (platysma muscle bands) is the most frequent deformity seen after successful neck lift. New neck or lower face/neck lift would be the best treatment. Hope this helps.

Answer: Neck Lift, Neck Liposuction, Face Lift, Facial Fat Transfer, Fat Transfer to the face, Botox Hello Roccotime, Thank you for reaching out with your question about addressing neck bands. Based on your provided history and picture, the most effective treatment for platysmal banding is a neck lift procedure. This surgery can be performed independently or in conjunction with a facelift for comprehensive results. The neck lift typically involves an incision that starts in front of the ear, wraps around the earlobe, and extends slightly behind the ear. Through this incision, the surgeon accesses the neck area. An additional small incision is often made under the chin to directly expose the platysma muscles. The key part of the procedure is the platysmaplasty or corset neck plasty. This step involves tightening and realigning the platysma muscles, which effectively addresses the banding. After the muscles are corrected, the skin is re-draped over the neck, resulting in a smoother, more defined neckline. While other treatments like Botox injections or direct cutting of the platysma bands can offer some improvement, they generally do not provide results as long-lasting or as dramatic as a surgical neck lift. It's important to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss your specific needs and goals, and to understand all potential risks and benefits of the procedure. A neck lift can significantly enhance your neck's appearance, giving you a more youthful and contoured profile. Good luck, and I hope this information helps you make an informed decision about how to proceed with treating your neck bands. Sincerely,

Answer: Surgical versus nonsurgical options for neck bands Thank you for your enquiry and sharing your photograph. In a situation like yours where there is relatively limited laxity of the skin, it is worthwhile trying first to control the platysma bands with neuromodulator injections. If you find that the result is pleasing, repeating the treatment every 4 months usually controls the shape of the neck. If you find that this approach does not give you adequate improvement, neck lift surgery involving a combination of platysmaplasty and release of the platysma muscles as well as additional volume reduction lateral to the bands can be the surgical solution. This is usually referred to as deep plane neck lift

Answer: Recommend I would likely recommend a necklift with platysmaplasty to fix the recurrent platysmal bands shown in the photo. Without more photos/physical exam...it is hard to officially recommend a surgery. I would go see a board-certified plastic surgeon (with plastic surgery residency and aesthetic fellowship training) for a consultation.

Answer: Platysma banding There is a lot of controversy amongst experienced facelift surgeons on the best way to manage platysma bands. In my own practice, thin necks do have the possibility of getting platysma band recurrence even after a well executed face and neck lift. In your case, an isolated platysmaplasty with approximation of the muscle and a horizontal transection of the muscle would give you many more years of a band free neck. This can be done with light sedation.
