The nasal dorsum (bridge of nose) can be augmented with filler to achieve a slightly higher appearance. The key question is how much elevation you are looking for. Filler material is a gel which typically works well for achieving mild degrees of elevation. When we attempt to achieve major improvements in bridge height with filler, I find that the procedure is not as effective, because the gel cannot provide the needed support. When patients desire moderate to major elevation, I will suggest surgical rhinoplasty with a diced cartilage/fascia graft. The graft will provide a reliable means of permanent elevation, while achieving a natural contour for the nasal dorsum. I suggest a detailed consultation with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to discuss your goals, and possibly look at expected results with computer imaging. At that time, a reliable plan can be formulated for surgery versus non-surgical correction.
Temporary gel fillers tend to give the most robust results. In our practice, we prefer to use microdroplet Silikon-1000 injections for permanent results. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph
A nonsurgical rhinoplasty is wonderful technique to camouflage irregularities, dents, humps, and bumps of the nose and can improve your nose bridge. Your nose could be improved with rhinoplasty, which would give permanent improvements in symmetry, shape and profile. You can bring photos of noses that you think would be flattering to your face and these can be discussed. When you meet with a facial plastic surgeon, he or she will consider your nose in balance with your other features and can over the cost of the procedure. I hope this helps.
I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to go over your desired results. Facial fillers (voluma, restylane, juvederm) can be used to improve the symmetry of the nose and make the bridge appear higher. Surgery would be needed to improve nostrils or overall shape. Yes, fillers placed in the nose can make the bridge higher on a temporary basis. They also can have significant complications such as skin necrosis. For a permanent change, consider a rhinoplasty procedure which can accomplish narrowing the bridge line from the frontal view, refining the nasal tip, and narrowing the nostrils. Building up the bridge line from the side view can be accomplished with patient's own cartilage harvested from inside the nose. For many before and after rhinoplasty examples, please see the link and the video below
Hi,Fillers can be used to elevate your bridge although this will only be a temporary solution lasting anywhere from 4 to 6 months. The cost can vary anywhere from $1000 to $2500. Best,Dr.S.
