How long should I apply ointment to the donor area after an FUE procedure? (photo)

I have been applying the ointment to the donor area now for 7 days. Should I be good to let the donor area heal by itself now without anything or do I still need to apply the ointment for a longer period of time? If so, how long?

It is best to discuss your post operative care and regimen with your doctor since every doctor has a particular way of doing things.

That's a question you should be asking your doctor who told you to use the ointment in the first place. Usually that sort of thing you'd be instructed to do for 7 days anyways, but it's your doctor's plan for you, not ours. They know your specific case better than we do.

At 7 days you should no longer need to put ointment on the donor region, but it is best to contact your performing hair restoration clinic to confirm.

You can keep applying Bacitracin or similar ointments for another 5 - 7 days if needed. Your donor area looks like it is healing really well. Also, you will know / notice when you are healed in the donor area. Consult your surgeon whenever you are in doubt. Have a great day!

Follow all post-op instructions that you were given. After 7 days you would typically not need to continue using ointment. But every doctor has a different way of doing things and it is best to follow your doctors advice.

Ointment is useful in the donor area during the initial healing phase and up to about a week.  You are at that point so it is unlikely to have any additional benefit.
