I received Kybella today and as of this evening the left side of my smile is drooping and numb when I try to relax my face. This is not present on the right side at all. Is this permanent?

Answer: Kybella treatment and side effect Thanks for sharing your question and photos. Unfortunately, you appear to be experiencing one of the rare side effects of Kybella treatment which is marginal mandibular nerve injury. The nerve will recover completely over the next 4-6 weeks. Hang in there. Good luck!

Answer: Nerve injury after Kybella Thank you for your question and for submitting your photos. I'm very sorry to hear that you are experiencing a complication from your Kybella treatment. Based on your photos and your description, it appears that your injector may have accidentally injured your marginal mandibular nerve, which controls the movement of your lower lip. This is a rare, but temporary, complication of Kybella injections. I would anticipate that your lip should start to return to normal within a few weeks. I hope you feel better soon!
