Thank you for your question. There are more effective treatments to increase the volume of the lips, including Juvederm, other fillers and the more permanent treatment of fat injections. Always consult with board certified facial plastic surgeons that are experienced injectors.Best wishes,
Unless you had prior fat injections into the lips, your lips would not contain fat, even if they were naturally more plump than you would desire. Kybella dissolves fat, so it would not be indicated. Subtle lip augmentation can be achieved using delicate technique and small amounts of Restylane, Juvederm, and Volbella.
Please ensure you see a board certified plastic surgeon for a consultation. Kybella is not used for lip augmentation. Do not have Kybella injected to your lips. Kybella is deoxycholic acid that is used to treat submental fat. If you are looking for lip augmentation, you should consider a hyaluronic acid filler like Juvederm, Restylane or Vobella. Good Luck
Kybella is used to reduce fat under the chin in the upper neck area. It would not help to plump up lips.
No, Kybella isn't used for lip augmentation, but Volbella is a great filler for subtle plumpness and may have been what he was referring to. I recommend following up with your Doctor. Best, Dr. Emer
Kybella does the opposite of "plump" it dissolves fat. It is possible that your physician was referring to Volbella. Fillers like Vollure (released in April 2017) or Volbella can be used to as a subtle enhancement for the lip area, providing a natural result. I recommend having a consultation and treatment from a board certified dermatologist.
Most likely this doctor was referring to Volbella, which has recently been approved for lip augmentation. Kybella is only FDA approved for fat under the chin and would not be used for "plumpness" in the lips at all. Hope that helps.
Thank you foryour question glindarees. Kybella isthe first and thus-far only FDA-approved non-surgical injectable treatment forthe double chin. I have had patients confuse Kybella with Volbella as they sound similar. Volbella can be used for lip enhancement. I would double check with the doctor as to exactly which one he was referring to. It is useful to have these in writing as many treatments sound similar. Pleaseconsult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
I would not suggest that you return to that doctor. Kybella does the exact opposite of increasing plumpness. It dissolves fat under the chin. For your lips, you might want to consider Volbella, a new HA filler specifically designed for the lips.
Thank you for your question. I think there has been a miscommunication between you and your doctor. Kybella is an injectable product that can be used to help your body get rid itself of fat cells that form under the chin (submental fat). Please make sure you seek treatment from a board-certified dermatologist.
In my opinion, there is no downside to picking up where you left off with your Kybella® injections after taking time off. The interruption in your treatments should have not have any negative effects. Whatever fat cells were destroyed during your previous treatment sessions will still be gone.
Based on your photos, you are not an ideal candidate for Kybella treatment. It appears that you have 2 layers of fat above and below the muscle that require a more invasive treatment. I would recommend submental liposuction to address the fat located beneath the skin and a platysmaplasty with...
Thank you for your question. Please follow the recovery instructions as provided by your board certified facial plastic surgeon. Treating the swelling will not jeopardize your results. Best wishes,
