I had my first injection done 7 weeks ago and my chin looks worse then it did before I had the treatment done. There's this jiggly fat there now. I couldn't get the 2nd treatment done a month after the first because of the swelling.

Answer: Swelling after Kybella Thank you for your question aklepich. Kybella is the first and thus-far only FDA-approved non-surgical injectable treatment for the double chin. Swelling typically lasts 1-2 weeks, but could last longer. For my patients I recommend treatments every 3 months. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!

Answer: Swelling after Kybella Thank you for your question. It's impossible to make an exact diagnosis without assessing you in-person, or reviewing photos. That said, swelling is a common side effect after Kybella, and can be significant in some cases. While swelling typically resolves within 1-2 weeks, it can last longer in some patients - I have seen a few patients who experienced swelling for up to 6-8 weeks after treatment. I also don't usually recommend injecting Kybella every 4 weeks for precisely this reason - I often space my injections out by at least 10-12 weeks. Please follow-up with your injector if you have any concerns. Best of luck!
