What is the average cost of this surgery as well? How long is the recovery time typically. Would we make the eyelid more hidden? I like the eyelid that shows less than the fatter eyelid I have.
Answer: Upper eyelid filler injection for better eye symmetry One option would filler injection in your left upper eyelid to have better symmetry. It can be very effective in minimal invasive fashion.

Answer: Upper eyelid asymmetry I don't agree at all that your situation is fixable with fillers or fat. You have a common condition called ptosis, in which your left eye muscle is slightly detached or is weaker than the opposite side. This weakness causes the left brow to lift higher, trying to help the left lid open better. This motion also sucks the orbital fat under the bone so that the eye socket looks hollow. The only correction of ptosis is surgery. This can be done either from an incision through the skin, or from the undersurface of the eyelid. For your situation, I would recommend the undersurface of the skin because of its quicker recovery time and higher likelihood of symmetry. If find that if the surgery from the front is performed, then it's better to operate on both eyes to maximize symmetry (there are reflexes that affect the position of the opposite eye whenever you alter the opposite lid when the skin is incised).

Answer: Asymmetric Eyelids- a role for fillers and Fat Grafts Often when patients have an abnormally high fold on one eyelid, it can be due to the lack of fat in the upper lid. This is usually associated with an aging eyelid. However, in your case it may just be a matter of asymmetric fat in the upper lid. When the fat is asymmetric, the eyelid fold can become asymmetric. A simple and effective treatment is to place fillers ( I usually use Hyaluronic Acid Fillers) into the upper lid. This quickly restores the symmetry with minimal risk and downtime, and, the effects last for about a year or longer. For those interested in a longer lasting fix, I recommend fat grafting to the upper lid. This will fix the problem indefinitely. Below is an example of a patient with fat grafting to the upper lidsHope this helps.Good Luck

Answer: I have two different eyelids, what would be the best way to fix this? There is significant asymmetry in the upper lids due to the differential amount of skin and fat in that location. An asymmetrical upper blepharoplasty can accomplish making both eyes look more symmetrical, but they will not be perfect. Choose your surgeon wisely based on extensive experience producing natural results. This procedure can be performed under either local or general anesthesia, depending upon the patient's desires.
