Fat repositioning on lower eyelid, fat can return within 3 weeks?

Hi and thanks for your question. Some swelling can be typical after your procedure. It can take several weeks to resolve. There are ways to help minimize the swelling. It is important to apply ice to the area being treated. You can also apply a topical Arnica gel and provide Arnica tablets, which may reduce bruising and swelling. I hope that this information helps! Dear Curious,The healing process after surgery is a complicated process of wound healing. Swelling is normal and brings healing cells to the help heal the wound. Give your body time to heal. After 4 months usually you can get a good idea of the results will be. Best to speak to your surgeon about your concerns.I hope this was helpful.

With eyelid surgery, there are plenty of changes that will occur within the first 2 - 3 months and I would not expect to see close to a final result before 3 months. I advise all my patients to wait until 3 months before assessing any asymmetry or concerns with the surgery because the swelling and bruising will take time to settle down.
3 weeks is too early for there to be anything other than inflammatory changes going on. Let the body do its thing and heal. BY three months, the swelling will have settled and the skin starts to get back to its norm. Overall scarring will take 6 months to mature, but your outward appearance should be closer to the final result that you would expect by about 3 months on average.

This is a surgery that really does take a long time to heal.  You may be seeing swelling. The fat also undergoes a lumpy firmness.  Over time that gets better.  Try speaking with your surgeon about your concerns.

Hello, Swelling after blepharoplasty varies between people sometimes simple things like having a salt rich diet can produce increased swelling for a few days. It will take upto  3 months  for it to settle. Followup with your operating surgeon.

Swelling after this type of surgery can fluctuate.  Final results are not seen for about 3 months, so you still have healing of the tissues occurring.  I recommend speaking to your surgeon about your concerns.  He/She is most familiar with your surgical plan and can better explain what is happening during your recovery.

Swelling may make I bags appear to return early after surgery.However if your surgeon left the repositioned fat attached to its blood vessels in the fat pad then in some cases with eye closure and blinking the fat can be pulled back up into the eye socket by the attachment. I recommend that you see your plastic surgeon for an examination.
