It's only been 48 hours post op but they seem so high and hard and so pointy as Well. Will they change over time? Also in having sharp shooting pains in the sides. What would cause that.

Answer: 2 days post op It is very difficult to evaluate any results at only 2 days post op. It looks like you had a lift in addition to implants. This look is not uncommon and you will notice your breasts change shape over the next several months as the tissues relax and the implants drop. It is very important to go to all of your post op appointments with your plastic surgeon and follow their post op instructions. Best of luck!

Answer: Hard and Pointy Shape at 2 Days Post-Op It is important to watch the full healing process throughout the stages, and make sure that you have the appropriate follow-up exams scheduled with your surgeon in order to examine the healing progress as it should. Since you are only 48 hours into the healing process there is likely not anything to be worried about as of yet, but here are some common issues that can exist throughout the healing period.HEALING OF SENSORY NERVES: Tingling, burning or shooting pains, which will disappear with time and should not alarm you, indicate regeneration of the sensory nerves. If these sensations cause pain, repeated, local self-massage helps. ASSYMETRY: The two breasts commonly heal quite differently. One breast may swell more, feel more uncomfortable, or have a different initial shape. After complete healing, they will be more similar and natural. You must have patience, but if this causes concern, ask questions of the doctor or the nursing staff. SHAPE AND CONTOUR: The final shape of your breasts will start to look its best approximately three (3) months after surgery. It takes time for the skin and muscle to stretch and relax around the new implant. The breast will often look higher, firmer, and “less natural” in the first three (3) months. It can take up to a year to see your final result. Again, make sure you schedule the appropriate follow-up exams with your surgeon, or if at any time you are worried with questions get in for a visit right away. Good luck!
