If I got 350cc silicone implants under the muscle 12 yrs ago. will my breast size go back to my pre-augmentation size after explant? I Was 24 yrs when I got them and i went from a 34B to a small 34D. After 2 pregnancies I am a 36D. I did breastfeed both of them. I do not want a lift and want them taken out en bloc just in case they have a rupture.
Answer: After having implants removed will I go back to my breast size pre-implants? Hello! Thank you for the question! Since your breast augmentation 12 years ago, your breasts have certainly changed and aged. Aging and changes in breast volume have continued along with breastfeeding. All of these have likely contributed to drooping of the breasts nd loss of breast tissue volume from sch factors. In addition, the implant does cause atrophy of the overlying breast tissue. With this, the breasts will be smaller, however, with the changes of above. It is difficult to say how they will appear it bout having seen you then and now. Typically, breasts will be slightly smaller than pre-implant volume. A breast lift is never required, but is considered to improve breast shape. An en bloc capsulectomy is highly recommended for explantation. Hope that this helps!

Answer: Breast size I encourage you to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon for an examination to get a better idea of how much breast tissue you have. Sometimes the breast tissue will thin over time, but other influences such as weight gain may increase breast size. An examination will help give more accurate information. You can anticipate the breasts to look different after surgery from how you looked before implants. The skin will have stretched over the years from the implants, pregnancy and breastfeeding and may have a deflated appearance.

Answer: Implant removal Dear Flaka19,it is unlikely that your breasts will be the same as they were before the surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Breast Implant Removal It is very difficult to say if you are going to be back to the way you were 12 years ago. As you mentioned a lot has happened and your body has changed during this time. I would likely have to say you will be smaller than the way you were 12 years ago, but again an exam is needed to be able to tell how much tissue you would be left with.Removing them implants en bloc is a good way to get all the capsule and implants out, especially if there is a rupture and thickening of the capsules.Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.Hope that helps.

Answer: Will my breasts go back after removal of implants to like before? This is a very tough question. So without me doing an exam I would tell you this generic answer. To expect them to be the same as they were before implants and after having children you breast fed is very unlikely. Will they look ok however. Very possible that they will still look good. It just depends on how much lose skin you have and how your breasts handles surgery. Since you do not want a lift then here is your best choice. Take them out, and give them 3 months to heal. The skin will contract a little and you will also get used to them. It takes that long. I have removed them in many women the past few years with no lift, its a trend right now, and most of them are very happy and look just fine. There are some women who for sure would need a lift. But, if you know you do not want a lift now, then just take them out and wait. If after 3 months you can not deal then maybe you will change your mind about the lift. Its really all you can do if you know you do not want a lift now. Or just keep the implants. Those are your two choices.
