Hello. I got a bbl and lipo at the same time. The doctor assured the procedure was going to be in a surgery room, but they took me to a cunsultatuon room in his office. They gave me a pill to relax, and he started working on me without anesthesia. He said the liquid inserted was anesthesia. A nurse helped him do the procedure, the whole time he was next to her telling her what to do. He didn’t give me any ivy or anything more. The nurse didn’t wear gloves when she was puting on my bandages.
Answer: You've Been Lied to Hello,The type of, or lack of, anesthesia has little to no impact on the trauma and pain of liposuction. It hurts. A lot. Go visit a few ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeons who will be honest with you. As a side note, most of us put people asleep, and all dermatologists can't (credentialling), so you were likely speaking to a dermatologist, not a plastic surgeon.

Answer: Pain during liposuction Sorry for your experience. But your experience might help someone who reads your question. Pain free liposuction can be done with IV sedation or general anesthesia. It is unusual that a "little pill" can take all the pain away. Even injecting the numbing fluid can be painful. The lesson learned is to make sure your surgeon is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. If he is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons or The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, their office surgery center are required to be certified. It is unlikely you would have experienced this discomfort if you had been aware of the credentials of your surgeon and his surgical facility.

Answer: VASER HI DEF 4D LIPO / 360 Degree Sculpture / Body Contouring / HD Sculpting With Fat Transfer and Tummy Tuck / Mommy Makeover this sounds like under the standard of care. you CAN do liposuciton in procedure rooms and locally but i find unless its really small and local areas its very painful and not tolerable and you cannot get a really good body contouring treatment. you should really see an expert. it sounds like you went to someone who is performing under the standard of care and that you did not have full and honest informaiton before your procedure. best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Liposuction without anesthesia Hi and sorry to hear about your experience. I personally do not usually do large amounts of liposuction on any of my patients under local/IV sedation. I will occasionally do it on a very, very tiny area with some local and some sedation, but large cases of liposuction are always performed in our surgery center with general anesthesia. I think that anyone suggesting that liposuction can be done painfree without anesthesia or sedation is being less than honest. Ensure that your provider is a board certified plastic surgeon performing this procedure.

Answer: Liposuction expectations I'm sorry that you had a painful experience with your liposuction procedure. Usually, when we do the procedure in our office, patients do quite well with the oral sedation (pill) and the numbing medication in the fluid (tumescent fluid). If you had pain, typically additional local anesthetic would be administered to that site. Likely you will still have a very nice result. I would let your surgeon know about any issues that troubled you so improvements can be made in the future. Best wishes.
