Help! I am unclear what is wrong. I am day 6 post op, have not taken any narcotic since my surgery, only Tylenol. I can stand up for about a minute before I start to feel faint and light headed. My head feels cloudy and heavy and my eyes are always a little black around the edges. No fever but I’m a little warm to the touch. My surgeon over the phone said that everyone recovers differently but this doesn’t sound normal to me. This only started 2 days ago so 3/4 days post op.

Answer: Post surgical dizziness Your symptoms are not normal for six days after surgery. Mild bruising is okay, but severe bruising could be a problem. Dizziness could be from dehydration. Be sure to followup closely with your surgeon. Checking your blood count also not a bad idea. You may be anemic. I don't see a reason to panic, but you shouldn't ignore it either.
