I had Face and NeckTite 11 days ago, and I look worse now than before the procedures. I wore the compression garment for 4-5 days per instructions and use it overnight now. Is this normal? When will I look at least as good as before the procedure? I don’t even want to leave the house looking like this. My follow-up is on Monday FYI.
Answer: Cannula Subcision Combined With Hyaluronidase Injections Can Help To Shrink Submental Fat Deposits First, let me say that I am sorry that you are experiencing this problem. Since post-treatment edema (tissue swelling) can last two to four weeks, you will need to be patient before assessing the final results. As any one who regularly reads my answers would know, I am no fan of all the expensive "bells and whistles" light and energy-based devices (including radiofrequency devices), which appear to be backed far more by device manufacturer supported marketing hype than hard science. Although the edema will likely resolve spontaneously, I would be surprised if you achieve much improvement, if any significant improvement at all. For submental fat deposits I prefer to break them up via cannula subcision accompanied by the injection of hyaluronidase and/or an additional fat dissolving solution. Cannula subcision, even if accompanied by the hyaluronidase seldom engenders much significant edema that lasts more than a few days. Having said that, I would suggest going forward, that you check out the Nonsurgical 3D Vectoring Facelift and the Nonsurgical 3D Vectoring Necklift (on the net or in the RealSelf.com archives), both of which are intended to shape and contour the face and neck, respectively, and might be of value for you BEFORE directly addressing the submental region. Make sure that you are consulting a board certified aesthetic physician. Best of luck to you.

Answer: Too early Really pretty early - I typically see swelling for 2-3 weeks. Remember, this procedure continues to effect change over time, with improvements usually more noticeable at 3-6 months out. Hang in there!!!! It should be better as things go on. I would not do more right now - but would wait to see how well your treatment does in the long run.

Answer: Facetite/Necktite Results--add thermage, Kybella, Coolsculpting, ultherapy, exilis, VASER, ThermiRF It's too soon or final results. You may have swelling which can last several weeks. Lymphatic massage may give improvement. For best results, I recommend a combination approach with Kybella, thermage, ultherapy, exilis and/or Coolsculpting. VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF is an alternative for contouring the chin, if you're a candidate. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Wait to see final results Lymphatic massage is a good first start. It takes 3-6 weeks for most of the swelling to dissipate. I would follow up with your doctor and express your concerns. You may also have hard nodules and or cords that will improve with manual massage.Regards, Dr. Ravi Somayazula Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery- American Board of Medical Specialties Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS)- Subcommittee Task Force on Patient Safety Member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) Member of the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons, Houston Society of Plastic Surgeons, Harris County Medical Society

Answer: Facetite Thank you for your question. Facetite works by stimulating collagen growth through thermal injury. The procedure can cause a moderate amount of swelling that commonly lasts a few weeks. It is also common to develop some lumpiness in the post operative period. Daily gentle massage will help to decrease swelling and promote smooth healing of the tissues. Because collagen growth takes time, most patients will see some tightening 3 months after the procedure with improvement for up to a year. In our office, we have our patients wear a compressive device 18 hours per day for 2 weeks. Good luck!
