Pain and swelling related to FaceTite 1 week ago.

Question

I had face tite, a chin implant and erbium laser performed 1 week ago. Last night the swelling and pain in my jowels started and has progressively gotten worse. Is this normal? I have experienced no pain up until this point.

You had a number of procedures performed at once so its not unusual to. have signifiant swelling.  See your surgeon to ensure there is no sign of infection.  Follow your surgeons post surgical protocol.

Hi Jackandtay11,It is hard to say if the discomfort you’re experiencing is from FaceTite or the chin implant.  Regardless, this may be normal as the nerves in the area ‘wake up’ after the procedure.  That being said, address this issue with your surgeon.Best wishes on your healing,Dr. Jay

Thank you for your question. Swelling and discomfort is normal after any procedure. However, if you are experiencing a new symptom or a drastic change in recovery one week out I highly recommend you follow up with your surgeon. They will be able to do a careful exam to rule out any infection or adverse side effects and help to guide you in a safe recovery. Good luck!
