Facetite post op: is it imperative to wear a neck/face girdle 24/24 in the post operative days?

Hi, I would like to get a Facetite treatment and I went for a visit to a plastic surgeon. He told me that, for 6 days after the treatment, it is imperative to wear a full face girdle 24 hours a day. As I suffer from a severe form of migraine, I'm asking you if not wearing this girdle could bring to have less results from the procedure or no results at all... Thank you

Hi Antonellabettinardi,Although not 'imperative,' it is definitely recommended to have a pressure dressing after FaceTite, as it will help swelling subside much faster.  That being said, not wearing the wrap or girdle theoretically shouldn't affect the eventual result.Best wishes,Dr. Jay

As with most procedures requiring post op compression,there is a wide variety of opinion.I require 3 days ,some 1 week,others none at all.It depends on the doctors point of view.If your doctor says 6 days ,then you should stick with that

Thank you for your question! Compression (or lack thereof) definitely affects your outcome. We require patients to maintain compression 24/7 the week following surgery, and then at night until their 6 week photos. That being said, we do allow patients to remove the garment to wash as needed and take a break from it during that time. In fact, many of our patients choose to continue the compression at night until 3 months to further optimize their results.Best of luck!

Thank you for your question. We highly recommend that our patients wear a compressive dressing following the procedure. It helps with swelling and recovery during the post op healing process. It will definitely help to speed the process along. If you are limited from wearing a compressive dressing due to your migraines, keep your head elevated when you sleep. Sleeping on 2 pillows will help. Good luck!
