An injector put dysport in my upper cheeks. 3 days post, and fat "hangs over" my smile line. What are the long-term concerns?

I would expect your appearance to return to normal after the Dysport wears off from the injection you had to your cheeks.  It may take a few months for this to occur however.  

I'm sorry you are unhappy with your Dysport treatment. Results can be seen about three to five days after treatment and are in full effect after two weeks. The results from your treatment will gradually fade and should be resolved after three or four months.

It is very unusual to have neurotoxin injections in levator muscles, but the consequences are classic and that is what you are experiencing. Once the muscle strength is regained everything should return to its baseline. Please contact a qualified provider or a board-certified physician with extensive experience in these procedures.

Hi and thank you for your question.  It sounds as if your injector has treated you outside of the therapeutic area. An adverse result such as a ptosis, will resolve after a few weeks. However it is advised to return to the clinic which performed your treatment.

Thank you for your answer. Dysport will not permanently alter your face but it will take 3-4 months to resolve your issue. I would recommend that you only have a well qualified experienced injector for your treatments. People with less experience or less knowledge of anatomy can inadvertently misplace the product causing an undesired result. Good luck to you.

Hi there,I'm so sorry to hear you are having this problem. Unfortunately, Dysport effects are irreversible. The results are temporary, however, lasting between 3-4 months and should not have any long term effects.
I suggest seeking out an experienced injector.

Dysport results are not permanent, which means that people often need maintenance treatments to sustain their results.However, if the results are not exactly what you want, they are not permanent either.Best of luck and please seek out an in person evaluation with a physician for a specific answer to your situation.

I am sorry that you have had an adverse outcome after having dysport. Unfortunately, there is not much you can do to make this better except just to be patient and wait for the dysport to wear off. This typically takes around 3-4 months. It is possible that the solution was injected too low and affected your muscles that lift the cheeks instead of the muscles that create the wrinkles around your eyes. There should not be any long term consequences, but if you have any concerns, you should definitely contact the Doctor who injected you.
