I have an Asian nose. I got revision rib rhinoplasty and now I have a problem! Is my wish pic realistic? (Photo)

Based on the photos submitted, and your description of your nasal tip, the problem is the contour of the rib graft. Reducing and reshaping the rib graft can soften the tip of the nose; some soft tissue grafting may also be necessary depending on your soft tissues. A consultation with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon is necessary to better examine the nose. Your physician will be able to discuss at length with you in regards to the type of revision required. James Lee

The part of the rib graft that is causing up pointed nasal tip can be easily shaved down and the nasal tip can be made round just like shown in the photograph.RegardsDr. J

naradar55, your rib graft will need to be revised in my opinion. Over time it is possible this area could erode and your graft would then become exposed and could extrude. See an experienced facial expert that does "only faces" and has great photos. Search the Internet. Good luck!

You certainly can have the tip softened by shaving and sculpting the graft. Since your skin is thin and undergoes significant "shrink wrap" effect you would benefit from having a soft fascia graft placed between your skin and the underlying cartilage.

You can have a revision to trim the visible, uncomfortable cartilage tip graft. Temporal fascia grafts can be placed between the remaining  grafts and the skin to relieve the bossing or sharp edges of the other grafts. 

Hi,In thin skinned individuals, a large rib graft can show through the skin and even extrude. You might want to consider debulking the rib cartilage in the tip and using softer cartilage, like auricular cartilage to soften the tip.
