Buccal fat removal is a plastic surgery procedure that helps to correct the fullness of the anterior lower cheek ( chubby cheeks) thus making the face thinner. Buccal fat removal does NOT improve the jaw line.In young patients without jowls, improvement of the jaw line could be achieve with chin liposuction or kybella injections in most o the cases.
buccal fat reduction can help sculpt your face, but addressing the jawline is a different procedure. I like to explain it to patients this way - if you gently suck in your cheeks, thats what you can expect from a buccal fat reduction. It can be done in the office, with a few days of downtime as far as recuperating is concerned. I hope some of this helps!
Buccal fat is a procedure to thin the face independent of the jawline. The jawline can be improved with either neck liposuction or botox jaw reduction. Choose the procedure or procedures which are closer to your ideal surgical result.
The two procedures do different things. I shape people's jaws all the time to give them a more narrow, rounded, tapered, or countered look. Buccal fat pad removal can also be done. The jaw surgery requires about 1 hour in an operating room, but the buccal fat pad removal we do in the office. Both would require you to be around the office for just about two days and then you can recuperate at home.
Dear AlexissJ22,Finding the right Dr. is extremely challenging especially with the number of online platforms and resources available. There a lot of great Dr's available. Definitely check to make sure your choice specializes in the procedure you want and spend the time to read through patient testimonials. Hi there and thank you for the images. Based on your images, you may benefit from buccal fat removal procedures that can help contour a slimmer looking face for you as well as reduce some of the volume. Because you seem young, you may want to consider the long term affects of this procedure because as you age, you will lose fat in the face and premature removal of buccal fat may result in an undesirable loss of fat in the face. Facial volume is associated with youthfulness so having the extra volume is not necessarily a bad thing. There is also masseter muscle reduction with botox than help relax jaw muscles and make the face appear slimmer. When you are exploring the options of facial procedures, make sure that you also explore the right type of cosmetic surgeon to perform your procedure. Clear communication with your plastic surgeon is your best tool in getting the appropriate procedure that's suited to the goals you're looking to achieve. Hope this helps!
Hi. You can google "Buccal Fat" and usually you will find a list of Surgeons that perform the procedure. My recommendation is that after you find names of surgeons , visit their website and look for before and after photos so you can see their work and results. You can never do too much research so take your time and go to an experienced and reputable surgeon. Best of luck to you.

It is normal and expected to see some swelling on day 2 - its usually worst than on day 1. I usually like to have my patients wear a compressive garment as well as ice for the first three days to minimize the swelling. That being said, buccal space infections can be quite dangerous. ...
Buccal fat removal 'removes" the fullness of the lower anterior cheeks but doesn't remove the cheek dimples. However it may change the appearance of the dimples. Cheek dimples may look for deep with a full face or after gaining weight ( fat face) Therefore, as with weight loss, buccal fat...
