5 days post op, one breast implant is dropping faster than the other, is this normal?

Don't worry about the asymmetry right now because you're too early on in your recovery to judge your results. It's very common for implants to settle at different rates.

Congratulations on your surgery!  You would think that they would drop at the same rate, but it is typical for one side to drop before the other and you shouldn't worry about that.  You are only 5 days post-op, and you will notice over the next several months that your breasts will change quite a lot from shape to softness. Continue to follow your surgeon's post-op instructions and be patient.  Remember, no one has perfectly symmetrical breasts so even after your implants have settled, you may still experience slight asymmetry, but I'm sure you will be quite happy! ac

One side of your body is naturally different from the other and this can cause a difference in healing time.  It can also depend on whether you are right or left handed because you may be performing your massages differently or more aggressively on the side that has dropped first.  When you next visit your plastic surgeon ask him to make sure that you are massaging correctly so as not to develop capsular contracture.

it is quite common for implants to drop at differing rates.  The pectoral muscles are not identical. Usually the one on the handed side is larger and stronger. The pectoral muscles each will relax but each at its own pace to accommodate the new implants. Patience. All the best. 

The answer to your question is yes there is often a different rate of settling between to breast implants.  However you should see your plastic surgeon for an examination and ask if breast implant displacement exercises or a pole wraps might help encourage this lower implant to drop faster.
