Swelling in hips? 10 weeks post tummy tuck (Photos)

Hello,Thank you for your question and photos. Swelling can certainly persist for many months after Tummy Tuck surgery with liposuction. It has usually resolved considerably by 10 weeks post op however increasing activity or discontinuing compression garments may temporarily cause it to appear again. I recommend that you let your plastic surgeon know if you have ongoing concerns, otherwise try to wait until 6 months post op before evaluating your result.All the best 

Dear nmc1980,it is hard to tell without an examination. Generally speaking, you can expect swelling after liposuction and tummy tuck which should start resolving after a few weeks. If you are concerned, I would suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon. Thank you for your question. It's not unusual to have intermittent swelling where liposuction was performed for upwards of 6 months.  A lot of this depends on your activity level, and compression garments. I encourage my patients to wear their compression garments for up to 3 months post-operatively if able. Also, it may be things just relaxing a bit - and while I agree, you look great - if you are feeling swollen, try and give it some time. Best of luck!

allow more like 6 months or even more to assess your final result. you can have swelling during the healing phase. be patient and watch your dieting etc. try not to be too critical, so early on.hang in there.david berman md
