Is it normal to have a fever after Breast Reduction? I had mine Thursday, came home Friday. 99.4 now it is 100.

 have a temperature greater than 98.7. This is probably due to lack of deep breathing during the surgery and a few secretions at the base of your lungs. This can readily be remedied by the breathing during recovery, coughing if needed and early ambulation. If your temperatures persistently over 101.5 then notify your surgeon. Good luck

Surgery generates a hyper metabolic state in many patients will have a small elevation in temperature.

How long ago was your reduction? A slight temperature rise is often seen in the first 24-48 hours. You need to check with your surgeon.

It is fairly common to have a low grade temp after surgery.  If you are concerned, have pain, drainage, redness, etc.. contact your surgeon.

It is normal to have a low grade fever after any surgery.  If you develop local signs of infection such as warmth, redness or drainage then contact your surgeon.
