Is it safe to take an emergency contraceptive pill (plan b one step) one week after breast augmentation?

Congratulations on your breast augmentation, I hope all is well during your post-operative care. In my personal opinion, there is no correlation with taking emergency contraceptive pills one week after your surgery nor returning to regular use of birth control. However, because I do not have any medical history prior to your surgery I cannot say for certain. If you want to be 100% certain that there will be no complications give your plastic surgeons office a call.

There is no risk in taking birth control pills or plan B 1 week after breast augmentation, but there is a risk in having sex this early out from surgery. You don't want any acute raises in blood pressure for the first 1-2 weeks after surgery. In addition, you don't want to manipulate the implants this early out either.

Congratulations on your recent surgery and thank you for your question.  At one week out, it should be safe to take emergency contraceptive pill.  It is safe to take oral contraceptives prior to and immediately after your surgery, but it is advisable to inform your physician to make sure that he or she approves.  It is advisable to  be following his or her post-operative instructions in terms of activity.  It is always best to contact your surgeon directly to ask if it is alright to start any new medications.
