Will my tattoo affect my breast augmentation surgery?

it's best to wait for tattoos for a few weeks AFTER breast augmentation, since if the tattoo gets infected your implants may also pick up the infection, in my opinion.

Thank you for your question.  If you were my patient I would not recommend that you get a tattoo (of any size, using any ink color, anywhere on the body) in the first 4-6 weeks leading up to and following your breast augmentation.  While many patients get tattoos with no complications every day, there is an inherent risk of infection with tattoos that in my opinion is just not worth the risk so close to your surgery.  Please discuss your plans to get a tattoo with your board certified operating plastic surgeon.

Tattooing creates very superficial wounds on the skin that need to heal. These procedures are both elective and can be done at any time, so I would recommend waiting at least a few weeks after the tattooing before you have your breast augmentation.   You can also wait until your breast augmentation has healed and then have the tattoo covered. Risk is probably minimal, however it’s always better to optimize your health. The ink will have no effect on your breast augmentation. Best wishes.

Your best bet would be to wait on the tattoo until your breast augmentation is fully healed or vice versa.

I would either postpone the tattoo procedure or delay the BBA until after your tattoo has had enough time to adequately heal with absolutely no open areas or scanning. 

I think that it is best to delay the tattoo procedure until after your surgery. If you get an infection from your tattoo it could cause a problem.

You should not have any open wounds prior to elective surgery. Tattoos cause pinpoint wounds, and there may be a higher risk of infection. It is probably best to wait at least a few weeks before moving forward with your surgery.
