I had a breast augmentation 2 days ago. 450 cc under muscle. Everything was going well until today and I had a horrible muscle spasm. It has completely distorted my implant and now I'm worried I will have a capsular contracture.
Answer: Will hard muscle spasm after breast augmentation result in contracture? 2 days post-op. Thanks so much for your question. A muscle spasm after a breast augmentation, while uncomfortable and sometimes concerning, is a normal occurrence after a submuscular augmentation. The muscle is not used to being on stretch and under so much tension. This should reside in 10-14 days, if it persists, your doctor can prescribe a muscle relaxant. However, any time there is concern after a surgical procedure, I would recommend contacting the surgeon the performed the procedure.

Answer: Post Op Concerns - Muscle Spasms and Capsular Contracture Hi Haigood3 I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing muscle spasm after your surgery. While this do not usually cause capsular contracture, you should visit your plastic surgeon for an evaluation. Your surgeon can prescribe you with muscle relaxant.
