I am in the worst pain ever. I had my breast augmentation 2 weeks ago. I was put on morphine and hydrocodone but it stopped working maybe 5 days ago. The area I'm having problems with is my back. My implants were placed under the muscle which I'm thinking tampered with the muscles in my back. Any advice? My nurse told me to use bengay and ibruprofen which isnt working, as I expected, bc morphine isn't even giving me relief. I'm having a fit. Please help!
Answer: Breast Augmentation & backaches Thanks for your inquiry and I am sorry to hear you are having difficulty managing your pain after your augmentation surgery. Pain is an inevitable by-product of any surgical procedure and surgeons usually have a host of options to keep their patients comfortable during the early days of recovery. While it is to be expected that you will experience some discomfort for a few weeks after this procedure, the type of pain you are describing seems rather extreme. Perhaps a visit to your surgeon would be prudent to determine there is nothing more going on to cause your discomfort. Your surgeon may also be able to adjust your medication to produce better results. Best of luck to you and I hope you see significant relief very soon!

Answer: Back pain Since you are only a couple of weeks out from surgery, I would give this more time to resolve. Most patients are over their soreness at about four to six weeks after surgery. I would discuss this with your surgeon to see if they can offer you anything that would help to treat your discomfort in the interim. Best of luck with your recovery!
