Thank you for your question. Based on the pictures you appear to be good candidate for full tummy tuck to remove the skin excess with intense liposuction in your belly waist and back. I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results.

You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best. Overall, you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting. Liposuction can be done on people who are overweight. 10 lbs can safely be removed during one session of liposuction. You would benefit from abdominal liposuction. As others have stated, after liposuction the skin may hang due to your age and weight loss. If this occurs, you may need a tummy tuck to correct the sagging skin.

Based on your photos and having in mind your age, you are not candidate for just liposuction because you have an important degree of saggy skin and after the deflation with liposuction your skin will only become saggier.
After losing some weight your skin will be naturally saggier and you will be e perfect candidate for Tummy Tuck and most likely muscle repair inmorder to achieve a nice and beautiful flatter abdomen and niece waist line.
You have already a wonderful figure, so get done the correct procedure. If you get only lipo you will get a poor result, saggy skin and lumpy because of your age, quality of skin and thickness.

For the best result I encourage you to continue on your weight loss journey until you are close to your goal weight. You can have liposuction now, but you are correct that you won't lose much weight and you run the risk of altering your results if you lose significant weight in the future.

The option of 360 lipo is a bad one for you.

First see an internist to be sure there is no metabolic issue.

When it comes to making an assessment and patience for Liposuction there are different variables that we need to take into consideration.

As a general statement the best candidates for Liposuction tend to be young women who fit the triad of being a “Young tight and pudgy”.

If somebody is the opposite then they’re probably not a good candidate for the post action but the truth is the great majority of patients who have this procedure are not 19 year old slightly overweight women who have not had children.

The majority of patients are middle-aged postpartum women who want their abdomen to look better. Probably half of them are better candidates for a full tummy tuck but prefer not to have that procedure.

There are also variables in regards to extremes in regards to wait that need to be taken into consideration. Most plastic surgeons limit Liposuction to no more than 5 L of fat removal during a single procedure. 5 L of fed is about 8 to 10 pounds. To treat the torso on someone to completion this can usually be done on average People up to about 180 pounds. People who weigh more than that typically need more than 5 L of fat removed to get ideal results. Patients who way more than 220 pounds typically need more than 10 L of fat requiring multiple rounds of Liposuction and that weight is typically my absolute cut off at which point I will not consider Liposuction of the Torso.

Based on your pictures and information you should qualify for being a fairly good candidate for a high-volume Liposuction and in fact should get a fairly dramatic result because of the amount of fat that can be removed and still being within The weight range of getting maximum results with a single procedure.

In regards to someone’s abdomen there are four variables that contribute to shape in contour. These are skin laxity, excess subcutaneous fat, muscle separation from previous pregnancies called diastasis recti and excess visceral or intra-abdominal fat.

Liposuction only removes subcutaneous fat. A tummy tuck primarily treats skin laxity and muscle separation from previous pregnancies. Visceral fat can only be lost through weight loss.

Ideally during a consultation a plastic surgeon should differentiate between each of these variables which intern should determine the individual candidacy for each procedure for that individual patient.


Your picture shows mild to moderate skin laxicity. You didn’t include information about previous pregnancies but if you have children then most likely you also have muscle separation and for this a better procedure is a full tummy tuck.
A full tummy tuck is a better procedure for patients who don’t have excess subcutaneous fat and only have skin laxity and muscle separation since those are the only variables treated by that procedure.

The bottom line is you are in many ways a good to excellent candidate for Liposuction. In the end most patients can skip liposuction through successful weight loss but weight loss does not change fat distribution. If you feel like even at ideal weight your midsection is always proportionately big and this is related to subcutaneous fat than you are an ideal candidate.

To differentiate skin laxity simply put the skin under tension by pulling up on your skin while looking in the mirror. If an area looks significantly better with the skin under tension than that is white skin laxity is contributing.

Someone who has a straight muscle wall should have a muscle wall that makes a bee line between the sternum and the pubic bone.

You can assess where your muscle wall is and feel the thickness of your subtitaneous fat by gently pushing on your skin with one finger until you feel the muscle wall underneath.

Liposuction results vary substantially based simply on who does the procedure. Delivering consistent high-quality Liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe.

I cannot emphasize enough the importance of carefully vetting board-certified plastic surgeon and selecting those who have the most skill and experience for this procedure.

Do that by having multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons. Look for providers who have a collection of before and after pictures that read like a telephone book and the least number of justified negative reviews on various physician review websites.

Personally I view the torso as a single anatomic unit and either treat the entire Torso or I don’t cheat the torso at all. A full Torso includes upper abdomen, lower abdomen, love handles, waist, fullback and under arm area.

Personally I do all liposuction and fat transfer procedures with patients awake using local anesthesia with mild sedation similar to how dentists or oral surgeons do their procedures. There are multiple advantages to avoiding general anesthesia but I would guess that most plastic surgeons still rely on general anesthesia for liposuction including larger areas.

The ability to have the patient whole different positions during the procedure greatly enhances results and the ability to deliver consistent results.

Because results vary so much between providers I would encourage patient to spend a significant amount of time and effort in consulting with multiple providers.

Liposuction is a permanent and irreversible procedure. When done incorrectly it leaves people disfigured permanently.

For this reason proceed with caution.
