Can Voluma xc be used in the chin and around the jaw to diminish the wrinkles that form under the cheek area?

A photo would be best to determine the use of Voluma. Voluma is a great product when adding volume. If your lines are superficial and fine another Juvederm product may be more beneficial to soften the lines smoothly. Although Voluma is only FDA approved for the cheeks, it may be used in other areas by an experienced physician injector. Voluma is a thicker filler so it needs to be injected in a deeper plane to avoid lumps and bumps. I have used Voluma in the chin and jawline area with very nice results. Since there is a significant amount of volume loss in the chin/jawline, Voluma does a nice job of bring back some fullness and lift to these areas. Juvederm XC is a product which is placed deeply beneath the surface of the skin near the bone.  It helps lift and contour more than it reduces wrinkling.  However, when injected along the jawline near and chin and at the back portion of the jaw (as well as along the jaw in some patients), the prominence of jowling can be reduced. 

While Voluma has been used around the chin and jaw, it is an off label use which means the FDA has not approved this use. I would personally not perform this procedure. Be careful prior to having voluma injected in this area. Consult multiple experienced and expert injectors and surgeons to understand your options.

Absolutely.Although it is FDA- approved only for the cheeks, I typically augment the cheeks + jawline with Voluma.  As the years go by, there is resorption of the bone of the midface and jawline and chin, which contributes to wrinkling of this area.  Building up the jawline and chin is like rebuilding the frame, and the canvas (your skin) lays more smoothly on top.Unlike Belotero, we aren't chasing individual wrinkles with Voluma, instead we are creating a framework.
