after the 6 day of having voluma placed in my cheeks , I woke up with puffy swelling under my right eye. It is day 9 now and the swelling under my eye is still there and my right cheek is bigger than the left. The nurse who injected the Voluma said to wait one month. MY biggest concern is the puffiness under my eye. Is this common?

Answer: Swelling after Voluma Injection Thank you for your question.Yes, we have had persistent swelling in a few of our clients. This has responded well to expectant and conservative measures over the course of 1-2 weeks. Hyaluronidase was not necessary. To be sure, return to see your injector or see two or more board-certified plastic surgeons in your area for a full and complete evaluation. I hope this helps.

Answer: Swelling after Voluma Because Voluma is a larger particle size, those who swell from it do seem to have the swelling more persistent and last longer. However, I have seen the swelling resolve every time and everything looks good. It just takes time. You could try taking an OTC allergy pill to see if that helps a bit. And you can sleep with your head a bit elevated too. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and cannot be held as true medical advice, but only opinion.
