I received Voluma injections 6 days ago. I have quite a bit of swelling. Is this normal?

Normal swelling from volume is typically symmetrical and does not usually result in difficulty opening the mouth.  It is likely that you developed a hematoma or bleeding in the deep tissues which can cause you to have the symptoms you describe.  Taking anti-inflammatory medications may help.  If your symptoms worsen visit your doctor.

Some minor swelling is common after Juvederm Voluma injections which can be helped by icing the day of the procedure. Significant swelling or pain is not common and should be evaluated by your provider, to make sure you don't have an infection. Good luck.

It is normal to have stiffness and swelling after injections of fillers including Voluma.  If you're temples were injected then it may be sore when you chew.  While these symptoms can persist for several days, I would follow up with your injector as they will be most familiar with the amount of product you received, the location,, trip

This is not normal. Some swelling is common after Juvederm Voluma
injections which can be helped by icing the day of the procedure. Significant

Any swelling usually resolves itself in 7 to 10 days. The level of swelling seems excessive. Contact your injector's office for a recheck if it is not gone after 10.

It is very common to have swelling after Voluma injection, any concerns you should discuss with your dermatologist but typically this will resolve on its own after 1-2 weeks max. 

I don't know where you were injected. However swelling from Voluma is usually very limited when compared to other fillers. Also, having the severe jaw pain is not normal. Speak to your doctor about this. You might have a hematoma or infection. 

It is not uncommon to get swelling and puffiness after fillers, such as Voluma.  If almost a week after the injection the swelling should be resolving, unless you had some other issue where the injection possible caused some bleeding, touching a nerve, etc.  I recommend if not improving then go back to your provider to ensure nothing more serious is going on.  If any issues, there are was to help alleviate or even dissolve the Voluma.

Swelling can happen after any fillers and really should be expected. I have seen that most people who do swell from Voluma tend to swell worse and have it last a bit longer. Voluma is actually supposed to cause less swelling in general and it does for most people, but those affected do seem to have it worse than with most other HA fillers. I believe this has more to do with the thickness and larger particle size of Voluma. Over a bit of time things will calm down and swelling will go down. Heat may actually be exacerbating it rather than helping. I'd recommend cold packs, but at 6 days out I'm not sure how much that will help exactly. For many people Arnica Montana, available at health food stores can help alleviate swelling quicker too. You should pick up some of that.
