Follow up - Can thigh lift be performed at same time as lipo?

Out of 4doctors, only Dr Nichter addressed question. TY to all docs for their input, but please listen to the question asked. I had a board certified, reputable P.S. in CA do thigh lipo. My skin was not loose before the lipo. I have thick skin w/musc legs.Fat was left uneven on leg. Seattle doc saidd I must've been a poor candidate. One should expect experienced doc to identify that, before lipo. Did not ask what can be done now? It was "can both procedures be done together?"

There are a variety of different ways to perform a thigh lift surgery. The appropriate technique depends on the degree of skin laxity and also the degree of fatty excess. The length and position of the scar can vary greatly depending on how much loose skin there is in the thighs and if this isolated to the upper third of the thigh or involves the lower two thirds of the thigh. In some cases, liposuction of the thigh can greatly complement the result, especially when there is fatty excess combined with skin excess. Combining thigh liposuction with thigh lift surgery is generally quite safe.

Hello and thank you for your question.  I did not answer your previous question but did look at it now. Sorry about your results. Simply put the answer is yes. I specialize in post massive weight loss body contouring and personally prefer to debulathe fat at the same time as doing some other procedure. I then will come when the swelling has settled to do the thigh lift. See (onedimsim) blog on rs. I do however perform thigh lifts at the same time as liposuction if for whatever reason I cannot do the above. I happen to have one scheduled for next week. The advantage of doing them separately is that I can be very aggressive with the initial liposuction as it does not matter if there are bumps and lumps thereafter. Therefore in your case you have been set up for the thigh lift to be done having been decompressed already.Aggressive liposuction of the thighs without future thigh lift is a no no unless you get lucky. The thigh skin and subcutaneous fat responds poorly to aggressive suctioning, especially the inner thighs. When I go back to do the thigh lift after suctioned I will again do touch up liposuction as needed.Peter Fisher M.D.
