I recommend following up with your cosmetic dermatologist about after care. I don't recommend picking the scab and I suggest using Silagen + Bioshield for 6 weeks. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
My recommendation would be to leave the scab alone. Feel free to wash the area and pat dry but I would not directly pick off the scab. This can disrupt the normal healing under the scab and could promote a widened scar. Best to have the provider who removed the mole take a look at the scab at your appointment when he/she reviews the pathology findings with you. Not everyone is a good candidate for this treatment so please see a Board Certified or Board Eligible Plastic Surgeon to evaluate if you may benefit. Generally best to leave the scab on and allow to fall off on its own. If you pick it off it can bleed. Suggest you see your surgeon or clinic for a review so they can check. Best wishes.
