My main concern is my nose and lips. When I talk, only my bottom teeth show and I've always wanted a lip lift to show my top teeth. But I also plan to get nostril reduction/rhinoplasty and I wanted to know if this is something that should be done simultaneously or separately. And if separately, then which should I do first to avoid risk of my face being off balance?

Answer: Thank you for your question. Unfortunately there are no pictures. There are different ways of performing a nose job and a lip lift. Different surgeons will give you different answers. I like to perform the procedures separately. In addition I like to perform the nasal surgery first. There are different ways of performing a nose job. As a former art student, from the LA county museum of art, I like to use advanced suturing techniques, with or without cartilage grafts in order to narrow and refine the nasal tip. I incorporate the finesse technique, which I invented. I typically do not pack the nose. Recovery and bruising are minimal versus traditional techniques. (Please see the nose patient ten days out video on our page). For central lip elevation I like to use the bull horn technique. I hope you find this information useful. Please see the enclosed video.

Answer: Lip lift and rhinoplasty A lip lift and rhinoplasty can be done together at the same time or separately. A rhinoplasty changes the shape of your nose but will not move its actual position. Therefore there is no risk of making your face appear off balance as long as each procedure is thoughtfully executed. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MDBoard-Certified Plastic Surgeon
