Thank you for your question. We advise our patients to sleep elevated for the first 1 week after surgery. This helps with the swelling. After a week our patients have a follow up appointment with our nurse to check the wound is healing as it should. They will then be advised on whether they can sleep normally. All The Best
Postoperatively, after a lip lift, you can anticipate bruising and swelling that will be noticeable to you and others for about 1 week. After the sutures are removed or dissolve, depending on the type used, there will be redness along the incision line for 4-6 weeks but this can be covered with makeup after about 10 days. Sometimes the upper lip lift is overcorrected with the initial procedure and will slowly assume its final position over weeks to months. As far as sleeping goes, I would recommend sleeping on your back or side with your head of bed elevated (about 30 degrees) for at least the first week to help reduce swelling. Consult with an experienced lip surgeon for a complete range of options that are appropriate for your situation.Gary Linkov, MDLip SpecialistManhattan
Many thanks for posting your question - one I actually haven't been asked before! For my lip lift patients i do however advise them to sleep with their head elevated on a couple of pillows for 2 weeks or so after the procedure, in an effort to help reduce swelling. After that, I am more relaxed - it is important that you get sleep which is a powerful post-operative regenerative process in itselfI hope this helps

It'd help if your provide some photos. It's difficult to answer your question just theoretically, without seeing your pics. Especially with LL revisions, a patients needs to see his/ her surgeon in person to properly review the case & potential risks. best regards, Piotr Osuch
You seem to be an appropriate candidate for a lip lift to shorten you philtrum (distance between upper lip & nose base) to balance your overall face proportions. Having said that, your dental show with mouth relaxed should be properly assessed before getting a lip lift done. This is one of the...
