What are the advantages of an Italian Lip Lift over a Subnasal Lip Lift (Bullhorn Lip Lift)?

If  I am not wrong, in an Italian Lip Lift the incisions are made below of the nostrils and the columella is left intact. In which cases a Italian Lip Lift is a better option than a Subnasal Lip Lift? Would a Italian Lip Lift give only an increase of size on the vermillion borders and left the cupid's bow the same size, since there's no skin removed in the columella or would it give the same results as a Subnasal Lip Lift? Is a Double Duck Lip Lift the same procedure as an Italian Lip Lift?

Since the "Italian" lip lift doesn't remove skin from the columella - the middle section of the lip - it won't shorten the length. This is a significant limitation, and not suitable for most patients considering a lip lift. The scar as it crosses the middle at the base of the nose is very inconspicuous.

There are several problems with an Italian Lip Lift. The chief problem being the lack of tension distribution along the subnasale which results in less favorable scars. Also, the central portion is not lifted which is exactly the portion which needs to be lifted for a shorter philtrum and more tooth show.
