Liposuction of the neck and jawline can really improve the jowls so well and quickly under local. Fillers would be a waste of time and money. Of coarse a lower face/neck lift would be best but the lipo alone can really make a noticeable improvement by itself.
Hi @renee158. I recommend Morpheus 8. Morpheus8 is a non-surgical treatment for full body skin resurfacing, skin tightening, and fat reduction of stubborn areas. It uses minimally invasive fractional radiofrequency energy (RF) to penetrate the skin deeper than other microneedling devices, triggering the skin’s natural healing response to promote skin tightening and lifting. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Fillers do not accomplish lifting structures, they accomplish adding additional volume where they're being placed. When patients have jowls, a lower face and neck lift is required to lift them back to their normal position.
Fillers in the mid face and temples are my first treatment option to help lift sagging jobs. Loss of mid face volume and bone resorption as we age is responsible for the jowls and the first step is to restore volume and reduce sagging. In addition, I may pace fillers around the mouth and near the angle of the jaw to further reduce sagging. Any fillers can be used but I love to use Sculptra to create a foundation and augment it with hyaluronic acne fillers such as Volume. This can create a more youthful and balanced look but don't expect to look 20 years younger. Judging from the pictures you would be a perfect candidate for other tightening procedures such as Profound or Ultherapy, although I prefer Profound
Hi renee158,Fillers can be a powerful tool for facial rejuvenation. However, in most cases, I don't believe that filling is the right answer. Filling can camouflage the shadowing that can occur in the prejowl sulci (grooves / marionette lines), but it can also make the lower face look heavy. The grooves are there because the cheek has descended down the jawline, so the best way is to move that lower cheek back up. This can be achieved with short scar facelifting techniques. In the right hands, this is a durable procedure that will last you well over a decade.Michael M. Kim, MD
Thanks for the great question! Putting filler in your cheeks and temples will not have any effect on your jowls. If you want to see some improvement in your jowls, fillers can be placed in your marionette lines to give you a more contoured jaw line. I would look for an experienced injector in your area. Best of luck!~Dr. Sieber
Thank you for your question and pictures. Dermal fillers are a great non invasive option to improve sagginess and volume loss of the mid and lower face. A soft lift technique will give you beautiful results as well as a refresh and natural look. Those results will last 12 to 18 months on average. Please see an expert in your area. All the best, Dr. Michon
Hello,Thank you so much for providing the photos. We do have a technique called "Liquid Facelift" or "Non-Surgical Facelift" which in fact does help to improve jawline. It is mainly include filler ( such as Radiesse, Voluma and Restylane Lyft) in the cheek and apple area. This would improves and lifts up look, improves lower face and lowline. There are other additional steps may be used in Non-surgical Facelift according to the individual needs. Your photos helped quite well to look into another possibility too:Looking at your chin and jawline, I see possibility of excess fat tissue ( although to clarify that it would be the best to have in-person consultation by an experienced and knowledgeable physician familiar with all possible medical aesthetics procedure). If that would be the case then I would think of having liposuction. Kybella would not be a great option because it would work only for chin area and does not work for jawline. For neck I prefer Awake Liposuction or Tumescent Liposuction because of using small cannula and no chance for excessive use of heat (Smart lipo) or ultrasound (Vaser) and the scars are minimal, of course in the experienced hands.Best -- Dr Ray*Disclaimer: This answer is not intended togive a medical opinion and does not substitute for medical advice.
