How long does it take to see the final results after tear trough filler?

I had half a syringe in each trough about a week ago and was told that it takes approximately 4 weeks to see the final results. One eye seems better than the other. Just wondering if I should wait before I call.

Hi @whosherface. It can take up to two weeks for swelling and bruising to subside. I would recommend waiting the full two weeks before returning to your injector for additional filler.

It usually takes 1-2 weeks for final results with fillers to the tear troughs. You may have swelling, which can be asymmetrical. Keep in mind, improvements to the tear troughs take a combination approach with fillers, lasers and microneedling/prp. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  Depending on the type of filler used most patients can return for a touch-up at 2 weeks.  This allows much if not all of the swelling to resolve so as to obtain a more consistent result.  Hope this helps.

Typically we tell patients to wait 2-3 weeks before really evaluating your result. We know that the body will respond to the filler injections with some swelling and some patients may experience bruising which causes swelling. The eye area is very thin skin and swells very easily.
