Lumps under eyes months after having fillers? (Photo)

Hello. I had fillers under my eyes in November and they looked great. 3 months after I woke up with really painful swollen eyes. Once the swelling had gone I was left with hard lumps under my eyes. I have had four lots of injections to dissolve the filler but I am still left with lumps. Every so often my eyes swell and they look dreadful. I am constantly walking round with big swollen eyes and my eye bags are worst than before I had the fillers. my eyes constantly look bruised.

The type of filler is critical for determining treatment. If you had HA, and if the dissolving enzyme was ineffective, it's possible you may have a chronic infection called a biofilm. Consider finding out which filler was injected and consult with several "expert" injectors who may be familiar with protocols for treating overcorrection, granuloma, or biofilm formation. You could also get more information from the manufacturer of the product. If you had a temporary filler, this may resolve with appropriate therapy. Good luck moving forward. Dr Joseph

Did you have the dermal filler placed by a medical professional? Are you under the care of a medical professional now? Most dermal filler under the eyes is made from hyaluronic acid which should dissolve when a medicine called Hylase is injected into the filler, this can only be administered by a prescribing nurse/dentist/doctor.
We deal with a lot of complications from across Scotland and the North of England. Tear trough has the greatest complication rate in my experience for a number of reasons.
My general advice
Most fillers are not specialised to place under the eyes only Teosyal Redensity 2.
Only go to a highly qualified and experienced medical professional.
Never have facial injections on the cheap.
