I am 35 yrs old, 3 kids. I had a capsulectomy and breast implant removal 4 months ago. I had the implants for 4 years . I removed them because they were too big and a mild capsular contracture. Now I am considering getting a smaller pair of new implants. I am 5’1 and 118lbs. I had 375cc and they were just too big for my frame. How long should I wait since my explant until I can get new implants and is it safe? Can I still have desirable results after the capsulectomy I had?
Answer: Getting implants At this time you can begin the process of getting new implants. Ideally you want to give yourself 6 months to completely heal. Your surgeon can help you select an implant that better fits your needs. I'm attaching a video you may find helpful.

Answer: Breast re-augmentation If you had a capsulectomy and implant removal 4 months ago you can start thinking about the possibility of re-augmentation. Really the thing that you have to consider is if the scar tissue has completely softened and relaxed yet. The best way to determine this is to feel if the scar on your skin is soft and pliable. Pinch the scar and make sure that it feels like your regular skin. If it still feels stiff and firm then I would suggest waiting until the scar tissue has softened sufficiently.

Answer: Insertion I would suggest allowing your tissue to heal for another couple of months. Yes, you can have smaller implants--maybe 200-250 cc's. I would suggest meeting with your surgeon and discussing your options.

Answer: It’s been 4 months since I removed silicone implants under the muscle. Can I get implants again? Yes, it is generally possible to get breast implants again after removing silicone implants, especially after 4 months. However, the suitability of re-implantation depends on several factors, including: 1. Healing Process: Your body needs adequate time to heal from the removal surgery. Four months might be sufficient for some individuals, but your plastic surgeon will evaluate if the tissues have healed properly. 2. Tissue Condition: The condition of your breast tissue, skin, and muscle will play a role. If there’s any residual scar tissue, or if your skin needs more elasticity or support, your plastic surgeon might recommend additional time or other procedures. 3. Reason for Removal: If the implants were removed due to complications like capsular contracture, infection, or implant rupture, your plastic surgeon may suggest waiting longer or taking extra precautions. 4. Desired Implant Type and Placement: Your plastic surgeon will assess whether sub-muscular placement is still the best option or if an alternative approach may be recommended. It’s essential to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options and evaluate your readiness for re-implantation.

Answer: It’s been 4 months since I removed silicone implants under the muscle. Can I get implants again? Yes, you can get implants again but I would recommend you wait until you have healed 6 months after removal. Discuss with your plastic surgeon your goals for size and projection of your breasts. A smaller implant with a smaller diameter may fit you better.
