How long after a BBL should I wait to start roller skating again?

Question

I have a bbl scheduled for next month. One of my hobbies is roller skating on quads. I don't fall often but there is a possibility I could and would most likely land on my but. Has anyone got any advice as to how long I would need to wait to skate again? Or what would happen if I fell on my but post surgery?

Hi, thanks for your question. I highly recommend that you speak to your surgeon about this as they know your case best and every surgeon will have his/her post operative guidelines that you should follow carefully. That said, I wouldn't take any chances with roller skating and err on the side of caution, and only take it up once you are fully healed and your surgeon has given you the green light.

I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors.It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.

Thanks for the question and provided information as well. 
I recommend my patients to wait at least 4-6 weeks before resuming their workout routine (cardio, lift, etc.). 
If you have any concerns, I suggest you follow up close with your plastic surgeon.

I have my patient wait 4-6 weeks before attempting to workout again. Once they start back, they are to start slow and stop anything that causes pain. Everyone heals differently so there is no one answer for every patient.

Each surgeon is responsible for their own postoperative protocols and recommendations. I would probably lean on the cautious side since rollerblading could potential he cause fairly substantial blunt trauma.

I would think three months would be a very safe time. To wait before doing intensity sports.
