I’m a diabetic, can I get a Brazilian Butt Lift?

I’m diabetic and was considering getting a bbl . My diabetes has always ranged from 6.4 to 6.7 . For the last three months I’ve been taking different supplements to get my hemo up now my A1c is a 7.2 !!! Is it possible that I can still get the procedure done? Will an endocrinologist clear me with an A1-c of a 7.2 with my history of its never been this elevated? Do you think that the supplements caused the increase?

Thanks for your question. A person with diabetes can get a Brazilian Butt Lift. However, every case is unique. You would need have it controlled with treatment and be cleared by your physician for surgery. I recommend you schedule a consult for a proper evaluation. Blood sugar levels should be normalized or very tightly regulated before considering surgery. Assuming this is within the normal range for the lab which did the test, then the number is good.

I feel BBL is a pure elective procedure. if your hba1c is above 7, I feel its in your best interest to wait till the hba1c stabilises and then u get the procedure done. since high hba1c levels can delay your healing process , so first stabilise it and then get your procedure done. hope it shall help to resolve your query.

Do you need to get your diabetes under control. Work with your primary care doctor, an internist or endocrinologist until your blood sugars are within normal range on a regular basis and your hemoglobin A1c comes down to a healthier level.

It’s not a good idea to have elective surgery when your blood sugar is not well-controlled.

It’s also a bad idea to go through life without having a diabetes well-controlled because of the numerous secondary conditions that come from poorly treated diabetes.

First step is first and that is getting your diabetes under control.
