Dear leiyann08,generally speaking, you want to reach your goal weight before you consider a BBL surgery, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
To make a quality assessment we need quality pictures. This should be pictures taken by someone else or using the timer on your camera from about 8 feet away standing in a neutral position showing your full torso from your neck to your knees including front side and back views.A BBL is in fact two procedures done at the same time and candidacy for the procedure needs to be assessed forA BBL is in fact two procedures done at the same time and candidacy for the procedure needs to be assessed for both Liposuction and fat transfer. It helps to know what someone doesn’t like or what they’re trying to achieve. For the abdomen there are basically for variables that contributes to shape and contour. These are skin laxity, access subcutaneous fat, muscle separation from previous pregnancies call diastasis recti and lastly excess intra-abdominal or visceral fat.The skeletal structure is probably the primary reason for each individual persons body shape.Standard breast lifts are good at raising nipple position but typically fall short in creating forward projection.Liposuction only addresses subcutaneous fat so the other three variables if present are not addressed by the procedure.Fat transfer primarily increases volume but can help with shape to some degree. Patients who have cellulite typically should expect to see the cellulite at minimum stay the same or possibly become worse from fat transfer.Look for before and after pictures including patients with similar body characteristics to around in the before pictures. Typically women who have had previous pregnancies tend to be better candidates for a tummy tuck rather than Liposuction but this is not always the case.I recommend scheduling multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons to discuss treatment options and getting an accurate assessment. Recovery may be challenging if these are done as combined procedures. Some plastic surgeons have fairly strict postoperative protocols regarding sleeping on your back and sitting after a BBL. It’s not possible to sleep face down after a breast lift. This is not to say the procedures can’t be combined but it does create a potential conflict in regards to recovery protocol. As with all procedures results vary substantially depending on who does the procedure but this is probably more true for liposuction and fat transfer than any other procedure. For that reason I recommend seeking out the most talented and experienced providers especially for the BBL. Do so by having multiple in person consultations with local experienced providers.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
