No idea what "stage 1 of hypertension" means.... that is new to me. In terms of safety with surgery with any hypertensive patient, anesthesia need to be experience with the effect oft those medications especially in the early part of the start of anesthesia. Any reputable, board certified plastic surgeon is required to work only in accredited settings - so look for ASPS credentialing. ASPS stands for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons... the website is plasticsurgery.org and they can locate board certified plastic surgeons in your area. Then look for someone who is experienced with BBL's- not every board certified plastic surgeon does them as this is a relatively new procedure and truly required the right training and the right instruments. One expert that is world renown is Dr. Daniel Delveccio. Best Wishes!!
Hi, thank you for sharing your question. If you are cleared by your doctor to undergo surgery and your blood pressure is under control, you can safely have this done.
As long as your blood pressure is well controlled with medication and you are otherwise healthy, you can proceed with surgery.
Thank you for your question. to be a good candidate for the procedures you want, your pre op labs and cardiovascular preoperative evaluation must be optimal to make sure everything is under control.Kind Regards,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Dear Sunflower121892,you should be healthy prior to surgery and in some cases, you might need a clearance from your doctor. Every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
YES Of course, with a written medical clearance letter from your medical treating MD. I have done many hypertensive patients in my private practice, where the clinics cancel patients like them. The primary requirement is close personal follow up by the surgeon for your safety. Clinic DO NOT do that. Hope this answers your question.
If your high blood pressure is controlled, then you should be fine to have a surgical procedure. There are IV medications that can be used during your procedure to maintain a healthy blood pressure.
As long as your hypertension is well-controlled with medication’s you should be fine to have a BBL and probably will not need clearance from your internal medicine or primary care doctor. Each plastic surgeon will have their own views and protocols. For that reason your best option is to schedule several in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons to get an assessment and better understanding of the procedure including if your blood pressure is OK to have an elective procedure. Yvonne medication your blood pressure is not consistently 120/80 then you may need your blood pressure medication adjusted. This is not uncommon.Follow up with your primary care physician for blood pressure related topics.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
As long as your high blood pressure and other medical conditions are being properly managed by a medical professional, hypertension is not a contraindication for a BBL. You will be required to have medical clearance prior to the procedure based on the type of anesthesia utilized during the procedure. Schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.
Hi and welcome to our forum!Controlled systemic hypertension is not usually a contraindication to the performance of surgery. Medical clearance to proceed is required from your internist or cardiologist to ensure safety. Your blood pressure will be monitored continuously throughout your procedure by your anesthesiologist, and medications can be administered IV if needed.Best wishes...
Why do you have cirrhosis at 23 years of age? Maybe if you can obtain a written medical clearance from your treating MDs for 3 hours of general anesthesia. Then I can ask my anesthesiologist if OK to offer in office surgery. Or ask my hospital anesthesia group if ok for outpatient hospital...
I would not do surgery until your a1c normalized. There is no reason to push it. Your BMI and other medical conditions can put you at higher risk for complications. I would require medical clearance prior to surgery as well. The risk of fat clot is low if you go to an appropriately trained board...
Thank you for your question. To provide a valid medical opinion I will need to see pictures of you body from different angles. I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results. Respectfully, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol...
