What can I do about this line of skin under my chin? Is it a platysma band? I had Botox (4 units) and didn't see any improvement. Does the Botox need to be injected directly into the line? I am only 29 but started noticing this a few years ago. I don't see the need for a neck lift at this time. I wish something simple like Botox could fix this.
Answer: I see a platysmal band in the picture You can have your doctor inject 2 units of botox down the platysmal band. This will decrease the band. I would also consider adding a tightening device such as Ulthera to the neck for an added effect.

Answer: "Nefertiti Lift" Plus Skin Boosters May Nonsurgically Help Loose Neck Skin The photo the skin band on your neck does not appear to be platysma-related. That being said, I have been treating necks with Botox for well over twenty years and have found the so-called "Nefertiti lift" to be helpful when the platysma is involved and/or the amount of loose skin is minimal, as in this case. Properly performed, Botox (or Dysport or Xeomin) injected in precise locations within the neck, including directly into the band, as well as along the jawline can help to soften the downward pull of the platysma and hence give competitve advantage to the muscles of facial expression above, leading to a slight upward pull on the jawline and upper neck below resulting in improvement. Additionally, the use of light biostimulatory filler injected either in a grid pattern in the skin surrounding the loose skin or along certain vectors can result in a tightening of the neck skin when new, nataive collagen and elastic fiber synthesis occurs in response to the biostimulation (usually within four weeks following treatment). In my NY office I prefer to use Belotero Balance or Restylane Silk for this purpose, whereas in my Israel satellite facility, where a far greater number of regulatory agency approved fillers are available I am able to use Restylane Skinboosters, a product specifically designated for this purpose. Make sure that you consult with a board certified aesthetic physician with experience and expertise in nonsurgical neck rejuvenation and be sure to ask to see his/her before and after photos before agreeing to proceed. Best of luck.

Answer: Too young!! Hello and thanks for your question! From what I can tell from the pictures- you look young and beautiful- you have a great neck otherwise and I wouldn't want to do a necklift on you... I cant tell from the picture if it's a platysmal band... but it likely is a tiny one... Botox can cure that- will take more than 4 units... Go see an experienced injector as botox in the neck can cause significant problems if it affects swallowing muscles... Good Luck and God Bless! Dr. Robb
