I was face timing with my friend and accidentally lay down on my bed for one second 2.5 hours after Botox!! Omg!! I jumped right up and my friend thought something happened! I said no I'm fine. I'm worried if this will move the Botox to other areas of my face? It was only for one second and I sat right up again.

Answer: Lying down after Botox I definitely understand your concern! Years ago, when we first started injecting Botox, it was common to recommend not lying down to avoid possible Botox migration. Over the years, as we've gained more experience, we realize that recommendation is no longer valid simply because gravity is in effect regardless of the position of the body, standing, sitting or lying down. If Botox were to migrate, it would do so regardless of body position. Consequently, I stopped making that recommendation to my patients years ago and there have been no adverse effects. As with all cosmetic procedures, the skill of the injectors is paramount. Always seek an expert in facial aesthetics, such as a board-certified dermatologist, to maximize results while minimizing side effects.

Answer: Lying Down after Botox This is an excellent question. Many injectors recommend against lying down for 4-6 hours after Botox injections because there is a theoretical risk of Botox spreading to other, unintended muscle groups. This has never been proven in any scientific studies, and experience has shown that lying down after a Botox treatment likely has no impact on the final outcome of a treatment. I wouldn't worry much at all. Best of luck!
