Will getting a brow lift with Botox make my forehead even smaller. (photo)

The degree of lift you will get from Botox on your eyebrows will not shorten your forehead. A small amount of Botox should be placed on your lateral brows so that the muscles will not pull the tails of your brow downward. Once the muscles are relaxed, the brows will lift about 2mm, giving you a more open expression and attracting attention to your eyes. Please consult a board-certified dermatologist who is an expert at reshaping the eyebrows with Botox, as it takes a great deal of skill to do well.

 Botox will not shrink your forehead. The misconception is that Botox somehow can lift the forehead. Botox injected into the forehead drops the brow if anything.  Botox paralyses muscle. The lateral brow can sometimes be lifted by injecting the  muscles pulling the brow down when you squint.  Thus the forehead muscles over power the downward pull and rise a little.  Injecting the frown lines sometimes weakens the forehead muscles above the medial brows and drops them slightly.  This gives the illusion that the lateral brow has risen, though it has not.Understand that Botox weakens muscle.  It does not tighten it.

Hello and thank you for your question and photos. Because the "lift" from botox would be so tiny (only a couple millimeters) it will not have any visible effect on the size of your forehead. Botox does not actually lift skin or tissue it only paralyzes the muscles, in the case the muscles that are pulling your eyebrows downward. I recommend scheduling an in person consultation with a board certified facial plastic surgeon who has a lot of experience administering Botox as the results are very contingent upon the level of skill and expertise on the part of the administrator. Botox will not raise your forehead or make it shorter. It doesn't actually lift your eyebrows, either. Botox is a neurmodulator that works by relaxing dynamic muscles. Therefore, to raise your brows in a Botox lift, we relax the muscles that pull the brows downward. Without that downward pressure, the brows rise on their own. A board-certified dermatologist will be able to explain the mechanism to you in more detail and show you the kinds of results you can expect from a Botox brow lift.

Hi louja1,Thanks for your question and for sharing your photos with us.  A brow lift with BOTOX is a subtle change many women seek as it is a desirable trait. Since the lift is not drastic, there is really no effect on the forehead as far as reducing the size of it.  The goal is to inject a small amount in a very precise location in order to raise the arch slightly. I recommend consulting an experienced cosmetic dermatologist as the treatment is technique-sensitive. meaning, the amount of BOTOX injected and the precise location of the injection is key. facial expression. It can also be used to address the position of the brow. When this is performed the size of the forehead is not affected. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
