What can be done for a BBL revision if there is not enough fat?

Question

20 days post-op from Lipo to abdomen and thighs with fat transfer to buttocks. The one side is fuller and has more projection (which I want) in comparison to the other. The asymmetry is noticeable. What can be done if this needs to be corrected and I no longer have enough fat to transfer and do not want to gain weight for a revision? Are there any safe fillers to use for the one side?

I appreciate your questions! Twenty days is too short of a time to evaluate your Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) final outcome. Swelling is a common, temporary side effect after BBL surgery and in some cases, one buttock might look more swollen than the other. Usually, your body may look swollen for months, but after 6 months you might appreciate your new and amazingly contoured figure. I typically recommend my patients wearing specialized compression garments for approximately 6 months and getting a minimum of ten lymphatic drainage massage sessions in order to eliminate excess lymph fluid, completely alleviate the swelling and discomfort, and also prevent complications such as seromas (fluid collection) and contour irregularities (indentations, and/or fibrosis). I would recommend you waiting at least 8 weeks for the swelling to recede and evaluate the results. If you are still dissatisfied with the outcome, consult with your aesthetic plastic surgeon about your concerns and improvements’ options. Have in mind that foreign materials injections included but not limited to Silicone, Biogel, Hydrogel, Biopolymer, PMMA, and Aqua gel are not-FDA approved for body contouring, and are extremely harmful to the human body. The physical complications occurring from these injections include granulomas, lumps, bumps, itching, burning, skin discoloration, joint pain, tingling of the nerves, nerve damage, muscle damage, numbness, pulmonary edema, and possible loss of limb and life. Three weeks after surgery is way too soon to judge your final outcome. ~30-50% of the fat volume injected is lost over 3-6 months after the surgery. Swelling is common early post op and resolved over 6-8 weeks. With both of these factors, your final result will not be in place for 6 months. You will be surprised at how little irregualrties and asymmetries resolve themselves with the proper care. Professional massages are a must.
