I am not pleased with my BBL results —would the doctor charge me to fix the projection?

Dear emelsayin,every surgeon has a revision policy. Many involve reduced or even no fees for the surgeon (depending on the situation) while the patient may still be responsible for facility (the use of the operating room, staff, and supplies) and anesthesia fees. There is no set way that a PS handles a patient who is unhappy. Some do not offer any "revisions" with a discounted surgeon fee or free surgeon fee. There are other fees associated with surgery, so even if the PS does not charge you a surgeon fee, you will still have to pay operating room fees and anesthesia fees which  are 1/3-1/2 of the total bill paid usually. This is something that you should find out before signing up for surgery so that you are fully informed when making your decision. I state in my consent for surgery what my policy is, so that the patient is aware before we do the first surgery. "Free" revisions (no surgeon fee) are becoming less and less common since the ASPS task force for the BBL stated this past February that patients should be prepared to undergo a 2nd BBL if the safety guidelines are followed by the PS in order to achieve the results that are so popular. The safety guidelines help to decrease changes of a fat embolus which is what causes the 1/3000 death rate her in the US from the BBL and 7% death rate outside of the US.
