What is the best non-surgical skin tightening procedure?

What is the best non- surgical procedure for skin tightening. I have laxity of skin on my face and neck but very few wrinkles. I also want something safe for olive skin. What is a safe skin tightening procedure ( that works!) for olive skin? My concern is laxity and not so much wrinkle reduction.

Great question but your skin should be seen before making any commitment. These days radiofrequency treatments work best and have no pain or downtime, unlike years ago. I use the Thermi products. For face and neck depending on the skin I would recommend either ThermiTight or ThermiSmooth 250. You would need at least 4 treatments 2-4 weeks apart. No pain or downtime. Hope this helps. JB

Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

There are a variety of non-surgical skin tightening procedures and each one has unique characteristics.  Determining the best one for you needs to take into account a variety of factors such as the body area that needs to be treated, the degree of skin laxity, the quality of the skin, and if there is any concomitant fat or other factors in the area that may impact treatment.  For example, for thin relatively youthful skin without excess fat, Ultherapy can be an excellent choice.  If there is a mild degree of excess fat as well as skin laxity, then ThermiTight is ideal because it can both melt the excess fat and tighten loose skin at the same time. Other options include Thermage, laser, microneedling and some fillers such as Sculptra and each of these treatment can be effective in the appropriate setting.  Non-invasive methods usually need several treatments to achieve the best results. My recommendation for face and neck skin tightening without laser or surgery is Profound radiofrequency treatments.  Profound is a single treatment that can be performed under local anesthesia and produces visible results. Thank you for your question. There are a wide range of skin tightening devices. Some of the treatments are completely non-invasive such as Venus Legacy, BTL Exelis, Ultherapy, etc. Some are minimally invasive that involve RF micro-needling such as Fractora and Profound. There are also fractional CO2 lasers. Finally, there are minimally invasive devices such as J-Plasma, FaceTite and ThermiTight which will give a more dramatic result but will have some associated downtime.The decision on which procedure is going to best meet your goals is going to be based the degree of downtime you can tolerate and the amount you want to spend.
